My EVGA Geforce GTX 260 has been working mostly without incident for about 2 1/2 years, until yesterday. When I booted the comp, the 258.96 drivers had mysteriously disappeared; they were no longer installed. I tried installing both the 258.96 and 260.99 versions of the drivers, with no result. When the installation starts up, I get an error: 'Install cannot continue. This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics software.' I've tried using the Windows Hardware Update Manager via the Device Manager, but nothing works. Windows Update can't find any applicable drivers.

I've tried pointing the wizard to the unpacked drivers in the NVIDIA folder, choosing a driver type from the Wizard menu, and even pointing the wizard directly to the NV4_DISP file using the 'Have Disk' option. If I point straight at the file or choose a driver type from the menu, I get the following error: 'The NVIDIA Control Panel could not be installed which may affect driver functionality.
